About

Hi everyone! My name is Heather Auld. I am a twenty-something, CSS-obsessed, web designer/developer. I split my time between Seattle and the San Juan Islands. When I’m not glued to my MacBook, I like to swim, hike, snowboard, read, and entertain my border collie. I went to Brown University in Providence, RI, and later earned my Master’s Degree at the University of York, in the United Kingdom. Throughout my education, the generosity of the open source community has helped me to overcome issues that previously seemed insurmountable. The forums, tutorials, and troubleshooting hints scattered throughout cyberspace have allowed me to greatly increase the depth of my skill; from simple browser incompatibility issues to advanced Actionscript and Creative Suite techniques, I owe much to the online creative commons. This blog is my opportunity to contribute to the online designer/developer community and (as cheesy as it may sound) ‘pay it forward’, by providing freebies and passing on any tips or tricks that I pick up along the way. So thank you to everyone who has helped me out in the past, and I hope you all find this blog and its contents useful.
